VFLA Essay Contest

The VFLA Essay Contest is for the Novice, Intermediate and Pre-Advanced Levels for students of French, German, and Spanish.  It takes place in the winter of each year.  The topic varies from year to year.

The 2017 prompt:   “Listen with curiosity, speak with honesty, act with integrity.” (Roy Bennett)

You will note some changes to the format.  We have reorganized the information so that the pertinent information for each level is on one page.  Finally, we have included the scoring rubrics for each.

Each of the top 6 essays--2 in each category--will be awarded a $50 prize at a reception celebrating Vermont’s most motivated and talented foreign language students in April at the State House in Montpelier.
